About The Johnson/Siano Family (1640-2005) , Fair Hill, Maryland
Remember Calvert`s sacred pledge . . . .

This is the website of the Johnson family (Raymond & Marylee, Bradley, Kimberley, Zachariah, Emily, Amy) of Fair Hill, Cecil County, Maryland. The Johnson family is a very old Maryland family tracing it`s roots back to William and Alice Johnson, who arrived from England at Leonardtown, St. Mary`s County, Maryland in 1668.

Most of the early generations of Johnsons were tobacco farmers in St. Mary`s County, Maryland, in and around Leonardtown. Later generations moved to all parts of Maryland (for the most part) and (some few) beyond. Marylee Johnson was born in Staten Island, New York and grew up in Springfield, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

The Johnson`s and Siano`s (and extended family) are very, very proud of their military service to the United States of America:

  • Leonard Johnson - St. Mary`s County Militia (1794)
  • John Barton Johnson - 45th Regiment, Leonardtown Volunteers, War of 1812
  • Salvatore Siano - U.S. Army, World War I (1917-1918)
  • Bradley Thomas Johnson, Jr. - U.S. Navy SeaBees (1943-1945)
  • Florence Smith (Johnson) - Women`s Auxiliary Army Corps (1944-1945)
  • Raymond J. Johnson, Sr. - (Air Medal for Bravery in Combat)-(AAF), 8th Air Force, 446th Heavy Bombardment Group, 705th Squadron, 1944-1945 `The Bungay Buckeroos` and the `D-Day Leaders` They were the VERY FIRST AAF group in the fray and over the beaches on the morning of D-Day! These brave men flew in the greatest bomber of WWII, the war winning B-24 Liberator. Ray was the top turret gunner and flight engineer and saved his crew, and aircraft, over Holland in 1945 after a engine was shot off and the co-pilot was killed by flak. `We go up in planes and go down in flames, but nothing will stop the Army Air Force`
  • John Joseph Siano, Sr. - U.S. Marines, 1942-46 Occupation Force, Japan.
  • Bernard Ignatius Johnson - U.S. Army, Korea & Japan - 1950`s
  • Julius Leonard Johnson - United States Navy - 1950`s
  • Brian Evans - U.S. Air Force,(CONUS) Protecting YOU in the Homeland.
  • Amanda Cheatham - U.S. Air Force, (CONUS) Protecting YOU in the Homeland.
  • Bradley Fitzgerald Johnson* - Maryland Army National Guard, 29th Infantry Division (Anti-Armour) (2001-2004) First on Omaha Beach! - `29 Let`s Go!` *Specialist Bradley Johnson(Army Achievement Medal) (CONUS), already a veteran under Noble Eagle, has been activated for a second time since September 11, 2001 and is currently on active duty in Anniston, Alabama (From April 2004 to April 2005) protecting YOU in the Homeland. He has now served more active duty time than many of the veterans listed above! In early 2001 he was in Germany and was assigned to the `Opposing Force (Op For)` in war games where he was awarded a Coin for Outstanding Performance from the Commander of the Maryland Army National Guard. He was also activated by the State of Maryland in 2003 for a week and risked his life to save people surrounded by flood waters during hurricane Isabel and again was awarded a medal by the State of Maryland. Thank goodness for our National Guard!! 29th Infantry Division - in the face of obstacles - courage! `29, Let`s Go!` Thanks & God Bless all our Veterans! This generation and branch of Johnsons has a common bond with earlier generations; a love of horses (and a few mules and ponies, cows, chickens, rabbits, and all animals, but mostly cats). Currently we have four horses:
  • SLA Prometheous (100% Purebred Arabian & 53% Crabbett) - Barn Name `Mac`
  • HTC Ignited Fire ( 50% Arabian/50% Welsh) - Barn Name `Iggy`
  • Stray Cat (50% Arabian/50% Quarter Horse) - Barn Name `Jonesy`
  • In Memorial -Achy Breaky Heart (100% Purebred Arabian) - Barn Name `Pudge`- Pudge passed away on 7/4/05 and will be very much missed and loved. She was a good and faithful servant of God and we loved her so very much. May she graze forever in the pasture of God's Heaven! We live in the very northeast corner of Maryland in Cecil County, close to both the Pennsylvania and Delaware State lines and at the `top of the Chesapeake Bay`. Cecil County is the most northern county in Maryland`s Eastern Shore and is still largely rural, but developing fast. We are very proud to be `Marylanders` and to continue the family heritage - Bradley and Zachariah will carry on the family name to future generations of Johnsons. `Avenge the patriotic gore that stained the streets of Baltimore, and become the battle queen of yore, Maryland My Maryland!`
